Abstract

The purpose of the study was to observe healing process of extracted wound Mstopath ologically and histochemically, following intraperitoneal injection of cyclophosphamide solution, The 35 rats, weighing 250^(gm) or more, were divided into experimenta(21). and control animal grop(14). Mandibular right 1st, 2nd, 3rd molar were extracted under general anesthesia using ketamin-Hcl injection. Experimental group was ingected with cyclophosphamide solution, 20^(mg) per kg body weight respectively and was sacrificed on 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th and 13th day after injection. All the mandibles were removed,
fixed in the solution of 10% neutral formalin, decalcified in the Plank-Ryclo solution, and embedded in paraffin. The 6-81¢¥m sections of the specimens were stained with HematQ-xylin-Eosin stain, Van-Gieson stain, and P. A. S : (perodic acid Schiff)stain.
The following results were obtained
1. Epithelial proliferation of extracted wound was revealed on the 1st day, and insig-nificant differences was observed between control and experimental group.
2. Fibroblast was begun to invade at the periphery of socket toward the center of the alveolus on the 3rd day in control group, but was not distinct in experimenta group.
3. Osteoid tissue was appeared on the 5th day in control group, and on the 7th day in experimental group.
4. Epithelial fusion was noticed in control group, but not found in experimental group during the whole experimental period on the 9th day.
5. P.A.S. Stain was revealed with positive reaction intensively in control group, but with a little reduced reaction in experimental group on the 5th day.
6. In experimental group, the organization of extractcn wound was delayed compared to control group.
